Automation Controls System Product Engineer

We are looking for automation (SCADA) engineers with working experience of developing programmable automation controllers /HMI solutions for process monitoring and control applications for the O&G industry.

Must have vast experience with SCADA systems, control rooms and combination of hardware with software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing PLC/HMI solutions for process monitoring and control applications for O&G companies.

  • Able to read and write programs for various control systems (Allen Bradley, Modicon, SCADAPack)

  • Able to read and interpret technical documents (P&IDs, ladder logic, schematics, loop sheets, manuals)

  • Defining control system designs and documentation.

  • Process simulation.

  • Reviewing control system designs internally, as well as with customers.

  • Develop software standards for modular, scalable, and reusable solutions.

  • Develop Controls improvement projects and work with cross functional teams to deploy standard operating procedures and continuous improvement.

  • Specifying and purchasing of hardware/software as required by projects.

Qualifications:

  •  Controls, or Systems Engineering or equivalent industry experience – 7 years at a minimum.

  • Experience with integrating devices from multiple vendors into a packaged solution.

  • Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and software applications.

  • Proficient in Linux OS.

  • Process automation expert in multiple areas/plants, particularly in problem solving and troubleshooting.

  • Familiar with regulations.

  • Extensive DCS and PLC proficiency (multiple systems) is required.

  • Able to design and implement basic and advanced control schemes as well as complex sequence logic.

  • Submit a very short intro letter – must.

  • Project technical leadership experience; as a subject matter expert and/or lead engineer.

  • Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team oriented, self-motivated, and results driven.

  • Must be confident, enthusiastic, self-directed, and have good team building skills.
